WASHER BLAMMO

New York alt-rock two-piece Washer release new track 'Blammo', the second from their upcoming album Improved Means To Deteriorated Ends. The new album is their first in six years after their breakout All Aboard, 'Blammo' appears to address this time period and ruminate on the ageing process in general, “Its kind of about shifting your perception of time, and ultimately being grateful for any indication that time passes. It’s easy to get caught in the monotonous day-to-day drudge and feel like nothing has happened, and then look around and realize you’re old,” singer Mike Quigley says of the track “Better to think of time as fading in the distance, with the future coming from behind you with no real way to know what’s coming. Even unpleasant, slimy things sneaking up on you at least let you know you’re still moving through it.” Its an ultimately uplifting track, leaning into the acceptance and appreciation of time passing set to taut drums and fuzzed guitar riffs. The album is next Friday 28th April on Exploding In Sound Records, check out the oddly soothing video featuring the band learning to skateboard. -Toby Evans-Jesra
